Guess The Airline – March 2003 answer

Every month, an airline printed advertisement, minus airline name and logo, is displayed for your guessing pleasure on Guess The Airline. The following is the answer to a previous game.

In this Guess The Airline people were mostly intrigued by the colors in the small photographs, and very few by the small text. This was an ad published in a 1980 issue of Air Transport World, as part of a worldwide advertising campaign. Ready? Scroll down!

How to guess it?

Many people guessed Iberia correctly for a few simple reasons: the flight attendants’ uniforms, the colors on the fuselage of the plane on the lower right picture, the walls on the reservation agent’s desk, and the text identifying this airline as the second most important European airline. The mailing list members also had a clue: this airline never appeared before on any Guess The Airline game before.

Amazingly, several people guessed airlines other than European, and airlines which didn’t even exist in 1980! Have a look by yourself in the statistics below.
