Every month, an airline printed advertisement, minus airline name and logo, is displayed for your guessing pleasure on Guess The Airline. The following is the answer to a previous game.
Once again, this was an advertisement published on a Newsweek issue of 1985. Are you ready? Scroll down!
How to guess it?
The major clue was the somewhat common name of the program: Perks. The slogan “We make you feel like flying” could have also been of a big help. The airline used a DC-9/MD-80 aircraft as depicted on the picture. So, Republic Airlines it is, now part of Northwest Airlines… and soon-to-be the new Delta Airlines.
In case you’re wondering why the phone number was hidden from the original ad, here’s the reason: the number has been reassigned not to Northwest Airlines, but to Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, and it connects you directly to a live representative. Had you dialed that number, you would have had no choice but to say, like this author did the first time, that you dialed the wrong number!
