Remembering flight TE901 with a poster

31 years ago, day for day, Air New Zealand flight TE901, a DC-10 with 259 passengers and crew, crashed on Mount Erebus, Antarctica, during a sightseeing trip. I wasn’t born back then, and it was a disaster that occurred thousands of miles away from my present location. The only images that come to my mind are the pieces of wreckage on the white snow.

That was until Laydon M., airodyssey.net visitor like you, brought to my attention the poster on your right… It shows the dates of the sightseeing trips including November 28, 1979. That’s when the disaster occurred. It was like seeing a timetable showing a flight number that was, later, involved in an accident and retired. Kind of eerie.
