Guess The Airline – August 2011 answer

Every month, an airline printed advertisement, minus airline name and logo, is displayed for your guessing pleasure on Guess The Airline. The following is the answer to a previous game.

Once again, this was an advertisement published on a Maclean’s issue of 1989. Are you ready? Scroll down!

Canadian Airlines International advertisement/Wardair advertisement titled: 'A new business approach to the old world', from the year 1989, featuring a map of Europe.

How to guess it?

Which airline bought Wardair in 1989? That was it. Canadian Airlines ran ads for months in 1989 showing the two airlines’ logos side by side, while showcasing their crews in respective uniforms. The message was the same every time: Canadian Airlines’ fleet meet Wardair’s superb service. At the time of Canadian Airlines’ merger with Air Canada, they still flew to the cities depicted on the map except for Manchester and Copenhagen.
