American Airlines – Wi-Fi commercial

The person who posted this commercial on YouTube called it “subtle”. I agree. The conversation between this mother and her daughter appears quite casual at the beginning… until a Fasten Seatbelt sign pops up out of nowhere. Even if it’s nothing really new, I am still delighted to see Wi-Fi Internet access being offered on planes. Imagine the possibilities of inflight entertainment with that… But wait, that costs extra. Darn.

By the way, could you believe that at the exact same moment the seatbelt sign “dinged” on this commercial, a friend sent me an instant message? And that’s not all: it “dinged” in synch. As the airplane nerd that I am, I customized my software to play a seatbelt sign “ding” every time someone messages me. Eerie coincidence, eh?
