1988 was the year when Northwest Airlines turned on the No Smoking sign not just for domestic flights under two hours (as required by law), but on “all flights throughout North America”. Look at the reaction of passengers when the narrator announces this policy. I would react like that too! 20 years later, non-smoking flights are the norm around the world and I often see comments on YouTube from people who don’t know that people used to smoke on flights.
